In 1917, industrialist J.P.Brennan took delivery of one hundred bottles of Pure Rye Old Farm Whiskey distilled by West Overton Distilling Company in 1912.
With the advent of Prohibitionism, in the 1920's, Brennan buried nine cases of the Whiskey under a staircase.
In 1986, the current owner of Brennan's Mansion, Patricia Hill, who purchased the property at Auction from the daughter of the late J.P.Brennan, renovated and converted the property into a Bed and Breakfast that opened for business in 2002.
The cases containing the Vintage and Pricey Whiskey were found during renovations and stored by Miss Hill behind a staircase where they stayed ever since.
